Earlier this year we headed off to Mauritius for a little break to celebrate Dylan’s parents 40th wedding anniversary.
This year has been a special year for both our families welcoming new babies on both sides, our parents reaching this milestone in their love story and getting to celebrate with them all in such a special place.
We travelled so much over the past 18 months, this was the first trip we had actually not planned for work, so we were excited to just enjoy it.
But as always when you arrive is such a beautiful place and the light is as beautiful as it is in Mauritius, your photographer brain and shutter clicking finger starts looking for beautiful things to aim your camera at.
Bianca & Dave were close to welcoming their second baby girl into the world so we documented a piece of their story in this beautiful place that will forever be etched in our hearts now.
If you ever get a chance to visit Mauritius, we can recommend a beautiful private villa near Grand-Baie, where we stayed, which really made it a trip to remember!
With our second baby on its way, we talk a lot about how to balance work and family life.
Its amazing how when you don’t have a family, a passion or a job can mean so much to you, who you are and what makes you, YOU.
For so long much of our purpose and self worth was wrapped up in being good at what we do.
Don’t get me wrong, we still love what we do and its important to us to be really great at it. I often hear people talk about chasing their dreams and working hard to achieve them! Maybe we should realize we are all just human and doing our best in all aspects of our lives is all we can expect from ourselves, and in the end what really matters is how we loved others and how others loved us!
We love seeing our couples grow into beautiful little families. We did Nicci & Delareys wedding years ago and we were so happy to catch up after all this time to see just how good life has been to them.
Here are just a few shots of their beautiful nursery, gorgeous new baby girl and cutest two year old boy.
As you can imagine a photo shoot is probably the last thing a brand new mama feels like a week or two after getting home from the hospital, I know that’s how I felt. But looking back over our newborn pics always warms my heart.
It’s a time of utter love, acceptance and gratefulness for all the blessings we have.
Over the past few years we’ve had the privilege of documenting many couples pledge their forever’s to each other. Then comes the next chapter in their lives, and we are always so excited to see these couples turn into little families. Since we’ve become a little family recently too, we really do understand just how important and special this next chapter is.
I would say the wedding day pails into insignificance the day you first hold your baby in your arms! The attention to details, the obsessing over how, what and where seems so irrelevant when you welcome a child into your marriage. The wedding day really is just a celebration to kick start this adventure we call life!
We worked for a long time to set ourselves up so that we could cater for the growing needs of our clients and provide them with the best service we are capable of.
That was one of the main reasons we built our natural light studio in Northcliff.
This space allows us to create beautiful scenes to document this momentous stage in a clients life.
For this shoot, we partnered with some amazing suppliers to set up this baby boy nursery in the studio and we happened to have a spare model lying around
